The program is taught in English; therefore a working knowledge of English is required (both reading and speaking). An English Proficiency Assessment may be issued to confirm the level of English and ensure it is adequate in order to be able to comprehend the material. <font color="#ff6699"><h4>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</h4></font> <p align="justify"><font size="2">Students must have Grade 12 or be a mature student (19 years of age). Students under 19 must have a parental signature on the student contract. Part-time schedules are set according to your needs, subject to certain conditions. Every student must complete 1500 hours of training to meet all of the course objectives. <br> <br> <b>FULL-TIME, PART-TIME, FAST-TRACK,</b> or <b>EVENING COURSES</b> are available. <br> <br> Upon completion you will receive a diploma stating that you have completed 1500 hours of training in the field of hairdressing. <centeR> <h2><font color="#ff6699">[ COURSE OUTLINE CURRICULUM ] </font></h2></center> <font size="2"> Students will receive a total of 1500 hours of instruction, both in theory and practical, consisting of four major components. <font color="#ff6699"><h4>INTRODUCTION TO HAIRDRESSING</h4></font> <img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 133px" border="1" src="/pictures/haircut.jpg"/> <p align="justify"><font size="2"> Learn relaxing, perming, cutting and styling using all modern tools available. Study the chemistry that goes on behind the scenes of chemical services including draping, processing and how to prepare to handle situations which may arise with professionalism and integrity. <br><br> Practice communicating effectively with the diverse clientele involved with working in a salon. <font color="#ff6699"><h4>COLOUR AND BLEACHING</h4></font> <img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 0px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 133px" border="1" src="/pictures/hairfoils.jpg"/> <p align="justify"><font size="2"> Gain experience in advanced salon techniques such as colouring with foil and cutting the latest styles of haircuts in preparation for working in today's professional environments. Learn from highly educated advanced certified colour technicians and follow the latest trends with the only ammonia-free colour system that has no harsh smells and causes no burning eyes. <br><br> FHTC has a multi-diverse clientele on whom you will be able to practice these techniques. <font color="#ff6699"><h4>COURSE ASSESSMENT</h4></font> <p align="justify"><font size="2"> Your performance will be evaluated on a percentage basis (70% passing grade). You will learn the theory of hairdressing according to Future Hair Training centre and Milady's Standard Cosmetology textbook. The final exam is made up of written and practical components, covering all aspects of hairdressing learned during the course. Upon completion of 1500 hours and a passing grade on theory, you will receive a diploma stating that you have 1500 hours of training in the field of hairdressing and a diploma for colouring. <p align="justify"><font size="2"> <img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 133px" border="1" src="/pictures/hairmannequin.jpg"/> While learning all aspects of hairdressing required to achieve a diploma, each student will also learn from weekly worksheets, guest speakers, demonstration models and the utmost in modern salon and classroom activities to help motivate and create an individual identity as a hair stylist. Although these are not all graded, they are mandatory components of the course, as is working on clients. <p align="justify"><font size="2"> Theory will be conducted according to the study of Milady's Standard Cosmetology textbook. Some students excel at a more rapid pace while others may take longer. The instructors will help to accommodate all students accordingly. <centeR> <h2><font color="#ff6699">[ ADMISSION & TUITION FEES ] </font></h2></center> <p align="justify"><font size="2"> We pride ourselves on having an ammonia-free environment, with the highest standards for your education. We hope you will find our outline well-suited to you. Upon request, hours and course duration may be adjusted to accommodate the applicant. Fees are $7,500 for tuition and $1,500 for equipment, textbook and workbook. <p align="justify"><font size="2"> Payment schedules are available (monthly payment).
