PREQUISITES
Although the student need not have prior study in the area of hairdressing, an enjoyment of working with people in a one on one
situation is a must. The program is taught in English, therefore a working knowledge of English is required. The minimum requirements as put forth by
the Cosmetologists Association of British Columbia also apply. A copy of the Act is available for your viewing.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Students which have a level of education less than grade twelve, must have acceptance from the instructor. Other requirements include
being 19 years of age prior to the start of the course, or have mature student status. If under the age of 19, written permission from a legal guardian
is required. Requirements for student loan acceptance include a high school diploma.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
** To train highly qualified Hairdressers.
** To teach the art of basic cutting, perming and colouring as well as hygiene and presentation/public relation skills.
** To prepare students for the Provincial License Board Exam for their hairdressing license.
PROGRAM OPTIONS
Future Hair Training Centre Ltd. is a ten-month full-time program schedule. The part time classes are run according to your schedule. Every student must
complete 1500 hours of training to qualify for the Provincial Exams.
FULL-TIME, PART-TIME, FAST TRACK, or EVENING COURSE are available.
Upon completion you will receive a diploma stating that you have 1500 hours of training in the field of hairdressing.
[ COURSE OUTLINE CURRICULUM ]
Students will receive a total of 1500 hours of instruction, both theory and practical, consisting of four major components.
INTRODUCTION TO HAIRDRESSING
Relaxing, perming, cutting and styling using all modern tools available.
Learn the chemistry that goes behind scenes of chemical services including draping, processing and how to prepare to handle situations which may arise
with professionalism and integrity.
you will learn how to communicate effectively with the diverse clientele involeved with working in a salon.
COLOUR AND BLEACHING
In salon advanced techniques including colouring with foil, cutting the latest of haircuts, and preparing for Provincial Exams taken at the end of the
course.
You will learn from highly educated advanced certified colour technicians. The lastest trends with the only ammonia-free system. No harsh smells and no
burning eyes.
FHTC has a multi-diverse clientele to learn these techniques on.
COURSE ASSESSMENT
Your performance will be evaluated on a percentage basis (70% passing grade).
You will learn theory of hairdressing according to Future Hair Training centre and the Milady Standard Textbook of Cosmetology.
The final exam is made up of a written and a practical component, covering all aspects of hairdressing learned at 1500 hours.
You must complete 1500 hours and a passing grade on theory to receive a diploma.
While learning all aspects of hairdressing required for the Provincial Exams, students will also learn from weekly worksheets, guest speakers,
demonstration models and the utmost of modern salon and classroom activities to help motivate and create your own identity as a hair stylist. Although
these are not all graded, they are mandatory components of the course, as working on clients is.
Theory will be conducted according to Milady Standard Textbook of Cosmetology. Some students excel at a more rapid pace, others may take longer. The
instructors will help to accommodate all students accordingly.

for you. Upon request, hours and course duration may be adjusted to accommodate the applicant. A tuition fee of $9,000.00 will include equipments,
textbook and workbook.

Class start dates are as follow:
January, March, May, July, September, November.
Completion date is 1500 hours from commencement date.
